About Cfo Rick
Rick Belgarde took an intro accounting course in high school and was hooked. He got his first accounting job at 16 with Capital Drive In, one of the most profitable drive-in movie theaters in the US at the time. While working on business degree in accounting from San Jose State University, he started as an accounts payable clerk with Paramount’s Great America and then worked his way up to Revenue & Contracts Manager. In 1996, took over payroll and accounts receivable for the Oakland A’s. A few years later, he became the director of the High Net Worth CFO Division of KPMG in San Francisco. Rick put all that experience together in 2003 when he founded CFO Rick Inc.
Rick loves traveling almost as much as crunching numbers. In his lifetime, he’s visited more than 40 countries.
Karen Keller joined CFO Rick as Tax Director after more than twenty years in public accounting. She was a Senior Manager with Frank, Rimerman in San Jose and with KPMG prior to joining CFO Rick. Over the years, she has worked with a variety of individuals, closely-held companies, trusts, estates, and non-profit organizations over the years. When she’s not buried in tax returns, she enjoys extended time off during the summer for long distance backpacking. She got hooked on backpacking after hiking the John Muir Trail and then taking five months off to hike from Mexico to Canada on the Pacific Crest Trail. She also enjoys wine tasting, traveling, and sports. Go Sharks! Go Dubs!
Darya is the CFO Rick Accounting Manager. She joined the company in 2014 and has more than six years of accounting experience. She has provided accounting services to companies of all sizes of companies, from start-ups to large corporations. Darya graduated from the University of Florida.
David “LD” Herrera
David “LD” Herrera is a staff accountant and insurance agent for CFO Rick customers. He joined the company after more than twenty years as a paralegal specializing in probate, trust and conservatorship law. Since 2012, LD has been a Licensed Insurance Agent providing health insurance and other employee benefits for small businesses and individuals. At CFO Rick he manages his time between working on individual tax returns, payroll, A/R and A/P. During his free time, LD volunteers his time, helping raise funds for local 501(c)3 charitable organizations and serving on various boards, producing and attending fundraisers. He also enjoys, traveling, spending time with family, and acting.
